The salt harvested in Akaoka Town is transported to the remote areas of Monobe, known as the “Salt Road.” This road is not only for transporting salt but also essential daily goods and was an important industrial route deeply connected to the lives of people at the time. There are many historical relics along the course that still retain the traces of the past. Let us walk these 30 kilometers with the thoughts of our predecessors from the mountains-surrounded Kami City Otochi to Konan City Akaoka facing the magnificent Pacific Ocean.
