Cherry Blossoms at Eboshiyama Park

Located on a high ground overlooking the Yonezawa Basin and the snow-capped mountains, it is also known as one of the largest "Edo-higan cherry blossom colonies" in Japan. There are about 25 varieties and 1,000 cherry trees in the park, with many second-generation famous cherry trees from all over the country. The Eboshiyama Hachimangu Shrine is adjacent, and its stone torii gate and weeping cherry blossoms are as beautiful as a painting. Just below the park is the Akayu Onsen street, a spot where you can enjoy both a stroll through the town and hot springs.
