Miyagawa Senbonzakura
宮川千本桜
After the great flood of Taisho 3 (1914), 1,000 cherry trees were planted on both sides of the embankment from Miyakawa's Miyase Bridge to downstream of Nakagawa Bridge. About 500 trees of various sizes remain today. The riverside has become a park and a place of relaxation for the townspeople. Blossoming against the backdrop of Mount Bandai, it has become one of Aizu's famous cherry blossom viewing spots.
