Saritahiko Shrine Rice Field Festival

猿田彦神社の御田祭
An annual ritual held on May 5th to pray for rich harvests and good catches. Men and women dressed in Momoyama period costumes plant rice. Afterwards, events like Uchiwa-zumo (fan wrestling) take place. Designated as a prefectural intangible folk cultural asset on March 17, 1971. Held on the same day every year from 13:00 to around 15:30

Place:Sacred Rice Field of Sarutahiko Shrine

Transportation:Take a bus from the JR side exit of Ise-shi Station on the JR/Kintetsu line, heading for 'Naikumae'. About 15 minutes. Get off at 'Sarutahiko Shrine'.
