The opening ceremony of the mountain heralds the arrival of spring in Tanzawa. Commemorating the safety of hikers, the opening of the mountain is celebrated with a concentrated climb to Tanno-dake. Additionally, various events are held to enliven the festival at the Kanagawa Prefecture Tanawa Park and Hadano Municipal Nishi Middle School.
