Among the many Tenmangu shrines, this is the only one worshipped during Sugawara no Michizane's lifetime, making it the oldest Tenmangu shrine in Japan. The spring festival is held to pray for the safety and happiness of families of parishioners and devotees. A limited edition "Thunder Prevention Shrine Talisman" is awarded during the spring festival. Children's Mikoshi and Chigo Procession will parade, and various events like Thunder Prevention Zenzai reception, tea ceremony, flower exhibition, and Ise Kagura dedication are held in the precincts.
