The Kawawatashi Shinji is a festival that reenacts the myth of Iwatsuku Wakano Mikoto, enshrined as the deity of Hakui Shrine, going to meet the goddess Mitasubi Menomikoto, who is enshrined at Hachiman Shrine. Under the light of torches and lanterns, the mikoshi rides in two gozabune (imperial boats) across the Choja River. Held in mid-September 2021, Autumn. Venue: Hakui Shrine・Choja River
