“EXPO SAUNA ‘TAIYO’s TSUBOMI’” will be located on the west side of the venue overlooking Osaka Bay, where you can experience the theme of the Expo, ‘Designing Future Society for Our Lives’, in a liberating seaside setting. It is characterised by a beautiful, vibrant shape of petal-like air membrane cushions that gather to form a single bud and extend towards the sun. The sun’s energy pours down onto the ‘sun bud’, carrying with it air from the sea, plants, and wind. The space created by the delicate and strong membrane is filled with the energy of nature, which is intended to harmonise our body and soul and bring us back to our origins as human beings. This sauna provides a completely new ‘co-creation’ space that embodies a ‘soft and warm’ future society, where the space covered with ETFE film* membrane material that transmits natural light is beautifully illuminated by LEDs and harmonises with the nature of Osaka Bay, which changes with the seasons and time. *ETFE film: high-performance fluoropolymer rolled into film form. It is attracting attention as a material that can replace glass for new architectural expression.
