Special Exhibition “Seiichi Horiuchi FASHION・FANTASY・FUTURE”
堀内誠一展 FASHION(ファッション)・FANTASY(ファンタジー)・FUTURE(フューチャー)
"Three Seiichi Horiuchi Exhibitions" held simultaneously
1. "FASHION" Exhibition
Exploring the 49 issues of 'anan' designed by Seiichi Horiuchi and savoring their charm
2. "FANTASY" Exhibition
Strolling through the large picture book forest and encountering original drawings and images
3. "FUTURE" Exhibition
Discovering the future from "My Favorite Horiuchi-san" chosen by 100 people
We are hosting an exhibition of Seiichi Horiuchi (1932–1987), known for art directing the magazines 'anan' and 'BRUTUS' (both Heibon Publishing, now Magazine House) and illustrating the picture book "Gurumpa's Kindergarten" (Fukuinkan Shoten).
This exhibition is structured into three sections (curated exhibitions) named "FASHION," "FANTASY," and "FUTURE," each starting with the letter "F." Each section's display space is designed by Tatsuya Ariyama, the design office ima, and the duo Ruto Miyake & Yuka Okazaki, offering the experience of three unique Seiichi Horiuchi exhibitions simultaneously. By unraveling the magazine creations from a new era that Horiuchi pioneered as a designer, enjoying the dream-filled world of art he painted as a picture book author, and discovering future guidance from his extensive works in photography and writing.
Furthermore, the festival plaza of "Gurumpa's Kindergarten," where you can meet the large Gurumpa, and a book café offering various picture books and cute menus, provide spaces for enjoyment by both adults and children.
