The Ore Deposit of Japanese Art Exhibition: Discover Future National Treasures!
日本美術の鉱脈展 未来の国宝を探せ!
In Japanese art, there are still many authors and works that are unknown to the world. For example, in the case of Ito Jakuchu (1716 – 1800), an unprecedented Jakuchu boom was sparked by an exhibition held at the Kyoto National Museum in 2000. However, before 2000, Jakuchu was a "hidden vein" to the general public. Although the excavation of fantastic painters, including Jakuchu, has progressed since then, there are still many hidden veins sleeping from the Jomon period to the modern and contemporary eras.
This exhibition aims to uncover these veins anew and establish them as beautiful jewels in the future history of Japanese art. We hope the audience will search with their own eyes for the "future national treasures."
